The Smritivan Earthquake Museum, Bhuj is situated on the Bhujiyo Dungar. It was constructed in remembrance of the victims of the devastating 2001 Gujarat earthquake. The Sun-point at the memorial is situated on top of Bhujiyo Dungar, providing a panoramic view of the city as well as breathtaking views of the sunrise and sunset.

The great palace of Mandvi was built in 1929 by His Highness Vijay Singhji, the Maharao of Kutch, as a summer resort. This palace has a domed terrace that gives a panoramic view of the sea. It has interiors made like offices where the king used to work. The construction of the palace started in 1920 and was completed in 1929. The palace is built with red sandstone. It has all the elements of Rajput architecture and draws largely on the plan of palaces of Orchha and Datia.
Shyamji Krishna Varma was born on 4th October 1857 in Mandvi, a town in the Kutch district of Gujarat. He was one of the foremost freedom fighters in India’s struggle for independence. The Shyamji Krishna Varma Memorial in Mandvi is a replica of 65, Cromwell Avenue house, Highgate, that was originally recognised as India House in London. He was a staunch nationalist and a freedom fighter with anti-imperial views.
